Big Game Hunting Information

For the 2024 Big Game Drawing, 22 is the maximum number of preference points for any species a hunter can have. To look up your total preference points, log-on to your California Department of Fish and Wildlife customer profile and click on ‘View My Draw Application/ Preference Points’ at the top of the page.

By law, you may only submit one application for each species. Any person submitting multiple applications for the same species will be rejected from the drawing and may be prosecuted.

All applicants must submit the $8.13 non-refundable processing fee for their application.

Big Game Tag Application Tips

The Big Game Drawing deadline is Midnight on June 2nd of each year.
  • Don’t wait until June to submit your application. Last-minute application errors may result in you missing this year’s drawing. Late applications cannot be accepted.
  • Check your receipt before leaving your local license agent or CDFW sales office to ensure you successfully submitted a draw application.

If you have any questions or need assistance in how to apply, feel free to contact us. We’d be happy to help you.
